Immigration documents checklist for Canadian immigration applications in Alberta

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer online immigration consultations?

Yes. We primarily serve clients online through Zoom, which makes it easier for people in Alberta, across Canada, and outside Canada to access professional Canadian immigration guidance. Online meetings are often the most practical option for busy individuals, families, and employers who want expert advice without the delay of arranging in-person visits.

Can I meet you in person?

Yes, in-person meetings are available by appointment only. Our main service model is online, but we can arrange an in-person meeting when needed. If you prefer to meet face to face, contact us first so we can confirm availability and schedule the appointment properly.

Do you answer questions for free?

No, we do not provide immigration eligibility advice or legal guidance for free. We offer a short introductory call for general introductions only, but actual immigration questions are handled through a paid consultation. This approach allows us to review your circumstances properly and give you focused, responsible advice instead of rushed or incomplete answers.

What happens in your first call?

Your first call is a short introduction, not a legal consultation. During that call, we explain who we are, confirm our licensing and professional role, and discuss our service categories at a high level. We do not answer legal questions, assess eligibility, or advise you on how to apply during that introductory conversation. If you want case-specific guidance, we will direct you to a paid consultation.

When do you become my representative?

We become your authorized representative only after you choose full-service support and sign a separate written service agreement that grants that authority. A consultation by itself does not appoint us to act on your behalf. That distinction matters because legal representation before immigration authorities must be clearly authorized in writing.

Can you help after a refusal?

Yes. If you come to us after a refusal, we begin by identifying the reasons your application was refused and assessing what needs to change. From there, we can help you prepare a stronger reapplication or advise you on a more suitable pathway, depending on your situation. Our goal is not to repeat the same mistakes but to address the concerns that affected the original decision.

Do you handle spouse sponsorship cases?

Yes. Spousal sponsorship is one of the most common areas we handle. We help clients understand eligibility, relationship evidence, documentation requirements, and how to present a complete and credible application. We also assist with common-law partner sponsorship and other family sponsorship matters where appropriate.

Can you work with me if I am outside Alberta or outside Canada?

Yes. Because our main delivery model is online, we can work with clients in Alberta, across Canada, and in many cases internationally. Canadian immigration applications are often document-driven, so virtual service works well for consultations, strategy, document review, and full file preparation. If you are outside Canada, we can still guide you through the process based on the immigration program that fits your circumstances.

Which immigration services do you handle?

We handle a broad range of Canadian immigration matters, including visitor visas, study permits, super visas, spousal open work permits, post-graduation work permits, employer-specific work permits, and International Experience Canada applications. We also assist with permanent residence pathways such as Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Program applications, the Atlantic Immigration Program, Rural Community Immigration Pilot, and Francophone immigration pathways. In addition, we handle family sponsorship, Canadian citizenship applications, PR card renewal, travel documents, temporary resident permits, GCMS notes, NOC code review, procedural fairness letter responses, LMIA support for employers, humanitarian and compassionate applications, refugee claims, detention hearings, and inadmissibility hearings.

How does booking a paid consultation with you work?

Booking a paid consultation is designed to be clear and straightforward. You choose an appointment time, provide your details, review the consultation terms and conditions, and complete payment to confirm the session. The consultation agreement explains the purpose of the meeting, the confidential nature of the discussion, and the fact that a consultation does not create ongoing legal representation. Once your booking is confirmed, we use that dedicated time to review your immigration situation and answer your questions carefully.

What is the difference between your introductory call and your paid consultation?

The introductory call is a short first conversation for introductions only. It is meant to help you understand who we are, how we work, and what kinds of services we offer. It does not include eligibility advice, legal answers, or case strategy. A paid consultation is different because that is where we assess your profile, explain possible legal pathways to Canada, discuss pros and cons, answer your questions, and help you understand the most sensible next steps based on your circumstances.

Do you require me to book the 15-minute introductory call online?

No. You do not need to use the website booking flow for the 15-minute introductory call. You can call or text us directly to request that first conversation. The formal booking process, consultation agreement, and payment steps are for paid consultations, not for the introductory call.

Can you tell me if I qualify to move to Canada?

Yes, but that assessment happens during a paid consultation, not during the introductory call. Canadian immigration eligibility depends on many factors, such as your age, education, work experience, language ability, family situation, immigration history, and long-term goals. We review those factors in context and explain which pathways may be available to you, which ones may not fit, and what your strongest next step may be.

What will you tell me if I do not have a strong immigration option right now?

We will tell you honestly. One of our core principles is transparent and genuine advice, which means we do not push weak applications just to create false hope. If there is no viable option at present, we explain why and help you understand what may strengthen your profile in the future, such as improving language scores, gaining relevant work experience, changing program strategy, or waiting for the right timing. Clear advice now can save you money, time, and frustration later.

What happens after I hire you for full-service support?

Once you hire us for full service, we provide a written service agreement and invoice, and the work begins after those formal steps are completed. We then guide you through document collection, review the material carefully, prepare the application, and submit it where applicable. During an active file, we keep you informed as updates are received from IRCC and communicate key developments and decisions. Our role is to make the process more organized, legally sound, and less overwhelming by handling the details with you step by step.

Can you represent me before IRCC or the Immigration and Refugee Board?

Yes, where the matter falls within our authorized scope and you have signed the proper full-service agreement granting us authority to act. That representation is not created by a paid consultation alone. If you want us to communicate with immigration authorities on your behalf, prepare and manage a file as your representative, or assist in matters involving formal representation, that must be established through a separate written agreement.

Can you help with Express Entry applications and strategy?

Yes. We help clients understand how Express Entry works, whether they may qualify under the available federal pathways, and what factors may affect their competitiveness. Our role includes assessing your profile, identifying strengths and weaknesses, reviewing your documents, and helping you avoid errors that can weaken an application. We also explain when Express Entry may not be the right strategy and whether another pathway deserves stronger consideration.

Do you assist with Alberta Advantage Immigration Program applications?

Yes. Alberta pathways are one of the common areas we handle, especially for clients who have Alberta connections, work experience, or goals that align with the province’s immigration streams. We help you understand whether an Alberta-based strategy makes sense, what eligibility factors matter, and how an application should be prepared in a way that matches the requirements of the specific program.

Do you handle visitor visas, study permits, super visas, and work permits?

Yes. We assist with many temporary residence applications, including visitor visas, study permits, super visas, spousal open work permits, employer-specific work permits, post-graduation work permits, and International Experience Canada matters. These applications may look simple from the outside, but they often depend on how well the purpose of travel, supporting documents, financial evidence, family ties, and immigration history are presented. We help you build a stronger application based on the facts of your case.

Can you help with post-graduation work permits and employer-specific work permits?

Yes. We assist clients in understanding whether they meet the conditions for a post-graduation work permit and what timelines or documentation issues could affect the application. We also help with employer-specific work permit matters where the legal foundation is already in place. Our focus is always on the correct application strategy, proper documentation, and clear legal positioning rather than guesswork.

Do you recruit employers or arrange LMIA jobs?

No. We do not recruit for employers, arrange jobs, or sell LMIA opportunities. LMIA is an employer-driven process, which means the employer initiates it when there is a genuine hiring need and the legal requirements are met. Our role is to help employers with the LMIA application process itself. We keep this area strictly legality-first and do not imply that workers can independently start or control an LMIA application.

Can you help with spousal sponsorship, common-law sponsorship, and family sponsorship?

Yes. We assist with spousal sponsorship, common-law partner sponsorship, dependent child sponsorship, and parents and grandparents sponsorship. Family immigration files require more than filling forms. They require consistent evidence, clear documentation, and careful presentation of the relationship or family connection. We help make sure the application is complete, credible, and aligned with the immigration rules that apply to your situation.

Can you review refusal reasons and prepare a stronger reapplication?

Yes. A refusal should be analyzed, not guessed at. We review the refusal reasons, the application history, and the documentation used so we can understand what was missing, unclear, or unconvincing. From there, we help you decide whether a reapplication makes sense, what should change, and how to present the case more effectively. The goal is to respond to the refusal reasons directly, not simply submit the same file again.

Do you handle procedural fairness letters and other complex immigration issues?

Yes. We assist with procedural fairness letter responses and other serious immigration issues that require careful legal reading and a measured response. When an immigration authority raises concerns, the way you answer matters. We help you understand what the issue means, what evidence may be needed, and how to respond in a way that is organized, credible, and legally appropriate.

Can you help with refugee claims, detention hearings, and inadmissibility hearings?

Yes. These are serious immigration matters, and they should be handled with care, urgency, and accuracy. We assist with refugee applications as well as detention hearings and inadmissibility hearings where our authorized scope applies. If you or your family are facing a difficult immigration situation, we focus on understanding the facts, identifying the correct legal process, and guiding you through the next steps in a professional and responsible way.

Do you assist with humanitarian and compassionate applications?

Yes. Humanitarian and compassionate applications are often considered when standard immigration pathways do not properly address a person’s circumstances. These cases can be highly sensitive and fact-specific. We help assess whether this type of application may be appropriate, what kind of evidence is important, and how the situation should be explained clearly and respectfully.

Can you help with Canadian citizenship, PR card renewal, and travel documents?

Yes. In addition to immigration applications, we also assist with Canadian citizenship applications, permanent resident card renewals, and travel document matters. These services are important for people who need to protect their status, maintain mobility, or move forward in their long-term Canadian journey. We help make sure the process is handled with proper attention to detail.

What documents and information will you need from me?

That depends on the type of matter, but in general we need accurate personal information, identity documents, immigration history, and any records that support the application or issue being addressed. In some files, education, employment, relationship evidence, financial documents, or previous refusal letters may also be important. We guide you through the document collection process so you understand what is needed, what is optional, and what may require clarification before submission.

How do you keep me updated during the process?

We provide updates as information is received from IRCC and communicate with you throughout the active file as needed. Immigration timelines are often controlled by government processing, so not every stage produces frequent updates, but we do not leave clients guessing about major developments. If there is a request, decision, or issue affecting your matter, we communicate it clearly and explain the next step.

How do you protect my personal information and documents?

We treat your information and documents as confidential and do not share them externally unless required for your case or by law. Confidentiality is a core part of our professional approach. If you have specific concerns about how your documents will be collected, stored, or handled, we encourage you to raise them early so we can explain our current process clearly before you proceed.

Do you guarantee approvals or faster processing?

No. We do not guarantee approvals, and we do not make unrealistic promises about processing speed. Final decisions are made by the relevant immigration authorities, not by us. What we do offer is careful case assessment, honest advice, strong preparation, and a professional process designed to reduce avoidable mistakes and improve the overall quality of your application.

What is your consultation cancellation and refund policy?

A refund is available only if the consultation appointment is cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice. If a cancellation is made late, or if there is a late show or no-show, the consultation fee is not refundable. This policy helps protect scheduled time that has been reserved specifically for your appointment.

How can you help me contact you or book the next step?

You can contact us by phone at +1 (587) 966-7289 or by email at [email protected]. Our office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sunday by appointment only. We are based at 20 Lake St, Red Deer County, AB T4E 3C9, Canada, and we primarily serve clients online through Zoom, with in-person meetings available by appointment only.
